Search and Rescue / Emergency Medical Services
Saving lives is an integral part of Evergreens service. Evergreen maintains a long history in search and rescue and emergency medical service operations. Evergreen pioneered the dedicated air medical industry programs with its Evergreen Life Line and Alaska Medivac System, which served over 35 hospitals throughout the US. Evergreen medical aircraft have also worked in the Arabian Gulf, Europe, Africa and in Central and South America.
Today, Evergreen provides both helicopter and fixed wing air medical services and, since 1990, has rescued climbers from the high flanks of the Alaska Range, serving the National Park Service. Evergreens Aerospatiale Lama, known as the Denali Lama has rescued 8 climbers from above 19,000 feet since 1998. Evergreen pilots hold world records for the highest helicopter rescue.
