Representatives of the FAA will present the national honor to EIA Senior Vice President of Maintenance, Materiel, and Engineering Tom Pitzer on April 20 at 10 a.m. in a ceremony at the Evergreen Aviation Museum. Thirty-two EIA employees have earned individual bronze, silver, gold, and ruby awards, and those based in McMinnville will receive their honors in the April 20 ceremony, as well. The FAAs Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Awards Program applies to companies and individuals who excel in maintenance work and training on FAA type-certificated, U.S.-registered aircraft. A maintenance technician is eligible for the AMT honor only after successfully completing specific FAA-approved training. EIA mechanics work long shifts and experience all types of environmental conditions around the globe while continuing to place a focus on time and effort in their training. The Evergreen maintenance team is actively seeking continuous training, qualifying EIA employees to be nominated and awarded this national honor.
