Evergreen Helicopters Awarded MEDEVAC Contract in Hawaii
Contract to begin with traditional Hawaiian blessing ceremony


McMinnville, OR; Nov. 1, 2007—Evergreen Helicopters, Inc. (EHI) will a commence Helicopter Services and Support operation contract with the U.S. Army Garrison, Hawaii on Thursday, Nov. 1, on the Island of Oahu. A traditional Hawaiian blessing ceremony for the helicopter and crews, customary for new helicopters flying in Hawaii, is planned for the near future to officially kick off the contract. The ceremony will be followed by a flight visiting the various medical facilities.

The contract will operate two new Bell 412EPs for operations on the Islands of Oahu and the Big island of Hawaii at the Pohakuloa Training Area. Crews will maintain a 24-hour standby alert to provide air medical evacuation services and wildland fire suppression support response. The helicopters are specially equipped for Night Vision Goggles operations, rescue hoists and a full complement of medical support devices for onboard patient support.

EHI has partnered with Priority 1 Air Rescue, of Kauai, Hawaii, to provide emergency medical services on board the aircraft.
