Evergreen Donates Christmas Trees to Bring Joy to Hurricane Victims

McMinnville, OR; November 23, 2005—Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises, a division of Evergreen International Aviation, will donate more than 500 premium, fresh-cut Oregon Christmas trees (and all associated shipping costs) to hurricane victims. The trees will line the 700 block of Canal Street in New Orleans as part of a November 29, 5 p.m. festive and monumental city tree-lighting ceremony. Mayor C. Ray Nagin of New Orleans will distribute the trees to city residents.

The festivities will include remarks from dignitaries, the lighting of a 14-foot Christmas tree on the second-floor balcony of the Astor Crown Plaza Hotel, 739 Canal Street (at the corner of Bourbon and Canal streets), holiday refreshments, and the distribution of the donated trees.

Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises has teamed with Mayor Nagin's office and Astor Crowne Plaza hotel to make this event possible.

About Evergreen's hurricane relief efforts:
Evergreen International Aviation, the parent company of Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises, has participated in humanitarian service for the past 45 years and sees the tree donation as an opportunity to partake in the spirit of giving once again. Evergreen's commitment to humanitarian service is evident in the efforts taken on by personnel who dedicate countless hours for the good of others as part of an Evergreen division devoted to such efforts. Evergreen has given extensively in the wake of tragedy, and after the devastation of the recent hurricanes, Evergreen has organized relief drives and has donated helicopter flights and transportation of supplies to victims.

About Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises:

Years later, EAE, comprised of Evergreen Nursery, Evergreen Farms, and Evergreen Agricultural Products, owns and/or manages over 8,000 acres. The nursery and farms divisions propagate some of the world's finest Christmas trees, grass seeds, hazelnuts, nursery stock, walnuts, wheat, wine grapes, vegetables, and organic berries.
