Evergreen International Airlines Receives Aerial Achievement Medals from U.S Air Force Air Mobility Command

McMinnville, Oregon- October 15, 2004: The U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command (AMC) will present Evergreen International Airlines with approximately 200 awards for its support of international airlift services during the Iraq war. An awards ceremony will take place Fri., Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. at the Evergreen Aviation Museum.

The certificates will be awarded to Evergreen for its service in support of AMC’s central command activities from Feb. 8, 2003 through June 18, 2003. During this time, Evergreen flew over 200 missions and 7500 hours supporting AMC operations.

Maj. Gen. Mark A. Volcheff, Air Mobility Command Headquarters Director of Operations, will present Evergreen personnel with the awards. Maj. Gen. Volcheff is responsible worldwide air operations and transportation functions assigned to the Command, which provide swift response as an element of America's global reach. The Air Mobility Command also provides strategic and tactical airlift, air refueling, and aeromedical evacuation services for deploying, sustaining and redeploying U.S. forces.

Approximately 140 Evergreen pilots and 20 load masters and maintenance crewmembers will receive awards. During the ceremony, 15 Evergreen pilots will be present to receive awards and Evergreen executive staff will accept awards on behalf of personnel in the field.
